FireDos receives DNV certification for maritime applications

At the end of July, FireDos received DNV certification for stationary proportioners and extinguishing monitors. The certificate is not only the basic requirement for the use of extinguishing technology on ships or offshore installations such as wind turbines or pipelines, but is also a seal of quality for robustness and reliability.

The DNV certificate applies to all sizes of the stationary proportioers as well as to the extinguishing monitor types M2 - M5 with multi-purpose nozzle (MPN) and removable foam pipe (RFP). Both the proportioning systems and the extinguishing monitors are predestined for offshore applications due to their robust and durable design.

The stationary proportioners are purely mechanical. Driven by the water motor, they require no external energy. All types of foam agents, including highly viscous foam concentrates, can be handled. The devices are also available in a seawater version and, in the smart proportioning system version, allow the operating parameters to be monitored and maintenance to be carried out remotely. Ideal for offshore applications, as fewer personnel need to be on site for servicing. Resources and costs are saved, not least because system failures are avoided thanks to early fault detection.

FireDos extinguishing monitors are suitable for firefighting with water or foam and deliver thousands of litres of extinguishing water per minute over a distance of more than one hundred and fifty metres. Thanks to the innovative flow-optimised oval-flat design, there is only a low pressure loss. As a result, the extinguishing monitors achieve a maximum range. All extinguishing monitors can be controlled remotely and, in combination with an early fire detection system, enable hot spots to be extinguished automatically before flames appear. In combination with stationary proportioning systems from FireDos, they offer the ideal solution for automatic, early extinguishing with foam in maritime applications.
